Deuteronomy 5:9-10
You shall not bow down before them or worship them. For I, the Lord, your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishments for their fathers' wickedness on the children of those who hate me, down to the third and fourth generation but bestowing mercy down to the thousandth generation on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Our God is a good and merciful God.
We see all the times that he punished his people in the Old Testament but his mercy still shines through.
He will punish those who worship other gods down to the 3rd or 4th generation but he will give his mercy to those who love him down to the thousandth generation. Just a reminder that we truly have a merciful God.
Dear Lord, Thank you for your mercy.
