Matthew 3:3
If was of him that the prophet Isaiah had spoken when he said: "A voice of one crying out in the desert, 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.'"
John the Baptist prepared the way of the Lord. He prepared the people for the coming of Jesus. He did this by preaching, telling the people to repent and by baptizing them. These preparations help them be able to welcome and accept Jesus when he arrived.
We need to prepare ourselves to welcome Jesus into our hearts as well.
How can we do this?
We need to pray and read scripture. We need to keep ourselves pure and holy. We need to learn about the Church and her teachings.
We can't just assume that Christ is going to be able to enter our lives and change us if we don't prepare ourselves for him.
How do you prepare yourself for the Jesus to enter your life?
Dear Lord, help me to prepare myself for you.
